"Long Black Veil"
It's the best cover of that song I've ever heard. I heard Dave Matthews do it a while back, too. But that kind of sucked.
I finally got around to hearing "Cheating At Solitaire" and i'm really pleased with it. What are some of your guys favorite tracks? For me, The Devil In Miss Jones, and Crime Don't Pay really stand out. I'll try to pick up "Under The Influences" this weekend. I'm just sorry it took me this long to get around to these albums. Do you think they'll ever tour again? Does anyone know if Social Distortion perform any of these songs?

Devil in Miss Jones

Don't think Under the Influences lived up to Cheating at Solitaire... didn't have the variety
Cheating At Solitaire
I'm In Love w/My Car
Long Black Veil
Crime Don't Pay
Social Distortion played Long Black Veil at the Hootenany last year.
Social D performed Long Black Veil at last years Hootenanny.
My favs on Cheating at Solitaire are:
Cheating at Solitaire
Devil in Miss Jones
Long Black Veil
<font size="2" face="verdana, arial">That would all be opinion. Plus, Dave does about 8 different takes on the song. If you heard the super drawn out version with the black ladies, I agree it sucks. However, if you heard the one with Emmylou Harris that was done on the Johnny Cash tribute, that was really well done. Interesting note: Mike often bitched about the fact that he wasn't invited to be on the tribute show(he specifically mentions it at Woodstock).Originally posted by BroncoSteve:

Anyways, I think LBV is the worst song on Cheating at Solitaire. Send Her Back is one of my favorites.
The one that I heard was with Emmylou Harris at the Johnny Cash tribute. Dave Matthews has a really distinct vocal style, and I didn't think it meshed very well with the song. But, yeah, that's all opinion.

it was very cool to see Social D do Long Black Veil...however, my personal opinion, i dont think Ness should mesh his solo career with Social D, but i DID enjoy it.
ChopperDonny - so that was you eh? i thought i was one of the only few that saw you standin way off to the side playing that little (purple?) mandolin...kick Mike in the (Shake) Ass for not getting an introduction!
